Would Al-Qaeda Use Nuclear Weapons on the U.S.?
Would Al-Qaeda Use Nuclear Weapons?
Many people wonder: Would al-Qaeda use nuclear weapons if they had the chance? Won't these radical jihadists and terrorists just leave us alone if we stay out of their way and show some good faith by getting our forces out of Iraq? Adam Gadhan, a spokesman for al-Qaeda, has made it clear that this is no more than wishful thinking. "You and your people willexperience things, which will make you forget all about the horrors of September 11, Afghanistan and Iraq, and Virginia Tech," he said. "And let us be clear: A pullout from Iraq alone, in the absence of compliance with the remainder of our legitimate demands, will get you nowhere, and will not save you from our strikes."
One senior al-Qaeda leader is praying for an attack against Americans that will "tear their hearts outcut their heads off, tear them limb from limb and shed their blood in rivers." Another, Suleiman Abu Gheith, declared, "We have the right to kill 4 million Americans-2 million of them children-and to exile twice as many and wound and cripple hundreds of thousands. Furthermore, it is our right to fight them with chemical and biological weapons..."
Clearly, these leaders are referring to weapons of mass destruction. Osama bin Ladin's second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, has said, "Our message is clear-what you saw in New York and Washington (in 2001) and what you are seeing in Afghanistan and Iraq, all these are nothing compared to what you will see next."
To the question would al-Qaeda use nuclear weapons, the best answer might be a colloquial American saying: "In a New York minute." Read the article, . to find out more details about the plans Al-Qaeda has for America.
